Magic Flute

$1,250

In 1986, the Metropolitan Opera of New York commissioned Boulanger to create a poster as well as a limited edition original lithograph commemorating Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” to promote their 1987-88 season, and the works she created are some of the most coveted pieces to date. She was also honored with a solo exhibition at the gallery at Lincoln Center featuring works on paper, illustrating some of the most beloved operas of the 19th century. The ashen color palette in the original lithograph of "Magic Flute" is the antithesis of what she is so well-known for, but this work full encapsulates the mood of one of the world’s most celebrated operas. While remaining true to her form and colorful imagination, “Magic Flute” is a true testament to the talent of this great artist.
