Le Square (Oil Painting)

Artists often reexplore a subject in a different medium that is intriguing or simply a reinterpretation.  So Delacroix has done here.  This oil on canvas is a superb example of the artist's keen understanding of setting.  The balance of the colorful storefronts accent the more subdued tone of the central focal point, the lovely square with it's majestic tree.
