Bach

One of the most famous names classical music, Johann Sebastian Bach is perhaps best known for his Cello Suites which still show up in present day media, from commercial advertisements to movies. Bach's baroque compositions and walking bass lines are represented by the artist’s choice of deep, rich and mellow tones. Nierman has interpreted the time dimension that music exists in and placed it in the space dimension that visual art occupies to almost create a case of Synesthesia. He employs Bach’s famous cello and envelops it in a whirlwind of color that seems to move with the velocity and precision of Bach’s annotated suite. This lithograph is a perfect representation of the controlled, highly detailed works of this great composer, while also paying respect to the depth and beauty Bach accomplished with less than a handful of instruments instead of a full orchestra.
