Chateaux de Blois

$1,250

In Delacroix’s image of Blois, he sets the chateau as a backdrop for a scene of a small park rich with green grass and a hulking cedar and fir tree, their dark green limps offset by the golden weeping willow, shedding its leaves for the autumnal season. The opulence and uniqueness of Chateau de Blois is not discounted in this piece, and Delacrois places close attention to highlight the ornate, architectural details of the the castle as it rises above the gardens and city that surrounds it. This is truly a spectacular rendition of one of the Loire Valley’s most well visited chateaus.
